Many important Bosch Group business processes depend on available and reliable information, information processing equipment and communication media. The Bosch Group aims to protect information according to need and to safeguard it regardless of its origin (Bosch information or information from business partners) and type (e.g. correspondence, IT data, telecommunication, videos).
Information security means ensuring the security of information and information processing equipment and data protection means ensuring compliance with requirements in relation to processing personal data as well as compliance with national laws and Bosch guidelines. Information Security and Privacy (ISP) covers all areas of use in automated information processing (IT), non-automated IT, and telecommunications, as well as IT authorizations for IT infrastructure.
To aid and assist the Bosch Group accomplish this, Data Security Officers at both the Regional and Divisional level work closely with the Corporate Information Security and Privacy (C/ISP) leadership and together play a major role in the Information Security Management System at Bosch.
This position, reports directly to the Regional Data Security Officer.
The Information Security and Data Privacy Counsel works to ensure compliance with all Legal, Governance and Operational security and privacy regulations of the Region (United States, Canada, Mexico). This includes the protection of intellectual property, proprietary manufacturing processes and personal information.
The Information Security and Data Privacy Counsel performs a supervisory role in all locations in his region in relation to maintaining national legal provisions and regulations for ISP. In addition, supports the divisional Data Security Officers in accordance with a corresponding working agreement.
The Information Security and Data Privacy Counsel advises and supports the regional division management for establishing suitable and appropriate ISP measures, and performs ISP audits to monitor the implementation
of these measures. Furthermore, the Information Security and Privacy Manager ensures that users and operators are aware of data security risks and that these are reduced using appropriate measures.
The Information Security and Data Privacy Counsel consults with corporate and divisional Data Security Officers on cross-departmental information security issues as well as international or country-specific issues. The DSO support C/ISP, e.g. in developing workable guidelines and tools topics and adjusting central rules to meet national legal regulations.
- Juris Doctor Degree
- 3-5 years legal experience
- Knowledge of US Privacy laws
- Knowledge of EU & US Privacy Shield and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- Excellent usage of MS Office Tools (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent management, communication, presentation and organizational skills
- Travel as required (~15% - 25%) - Domestic and International
- Computer and network knowledge
