Overview


 
The IT Security Cyber Threat Investigator will be part of a team primarily responsible for the review and investigation of IT/Cyber-security related issues and attempted intrusions as assigned by the Director of Cyber Investigations. As the IT Security Advisor, you will often act as the liaison between Cyber-security personnel and Corporate Security to safeguard the proper retrieval, storage, and transport of essential IT related evidence to ensure evidence integrity. It will be necessary for you to interact directly with federal, state, and local law enforcement as well as internal departments to include legal, audit, corporate security, and human resources. You will provide burst capability for security incidents during times of need, act as an incident coordinator, and provide updates on status to leadership. 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to demonstrate the following: 

-Develop and follow leads to a logical conclusion and possess strong case documentation. 
-Excellent organizational and analytical skills and demonstrate record of cross-functional collaboration. 
-Professional presence and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization including executive management. 
-Produce high quality work under deadline pressures and to recognize inappropriate software activity, as well as asset protection issues. 
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop concise written reports of investigative results and the ability to deliver crisp, clear, and concise executive presentations.
-Continual desire to expand their IT/Cyber-security knowledge and seek educational training opportunities, certifications, certificates, and degrees 


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience conducting criminal investigations/interviewing.
  • Minimum of 3 years investigative experience in a corporate environment. 
  • Working knowledge of network technology’s design, implementation, and maintenance and of the principles and concepts of network security to readily identify security vulnerabilities and their countermeasures in the operating
  • system. 
  • Knowledge of software tools available to assist in reducing administrative costs due to both malicious and accidental loss. 
  • Comprehension of the techniques, the technologies, and the methodologies used by cyber intruders (hackers) to select a target and launch an attack.
  • Knowledge of the various countermeasures to keep the system out of the “sights” of the hacker and to keep the hacker out of the perimeter of the target network
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Particular consideration will be awarded candidates who have completed the Reid School of Investigative Interviewing and advanced interrogation techniques. 
  • Successful completion of an investigative based certification such as the Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH); or Security +) 
Education:
Bachelors Degree or High School diploma/GED accompanied by adequate years of related work experience in lieu of degree
