JOB SUMMARY

The fall intern will provide backup support to existing Cyber Security Analysts and Engineers. This includes providing assistance with projects and support with incidents and requests submitted in IS&T’s ticketing system.  The intern will help with documentation and testing as projects progress. The program allows interns the opportunity to gain hands-on experience related to their field of study by working on meaningful projects alongside Children’s professionals.  Intern responsibilities may include project management, event planning and support, logistics, data base management, research and analysis.  Interns may explore career paths and apply for full-time positions upon successful completion of the program.

EDUCATION

  • Progression toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in an Information Systems related degree. 
  • Must be currently enrolled and a junior or senior at the time of pursuing the program.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Internship Dates: 9/18/17 - 12/22/17
  • Complete requests and incidents submitted in IS&T’s ticketing system. 
  • Test Information Security solutions and software prior to production roll out.
  • Complete and review documentation for projects or any operational effort.
  • Perform detailed analysis of business needs and possible improvements of Cyber Security impacts or considerations and translates into actionable items.
  • Provide system performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Tracks key performance indicators.

SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES*

Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.

 

Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
