Job Description

Cvent’s rapidly growing information security team is seeking to hire an Information Security Architect. This role focuses on design, integration and oversight of security solutions, patterns and processes across the corporate enterprise and Cvent’s product platforms. Applying a strong technical and product security background, the Architect partners with software architects, developers and technology operations teams to safeguard Cvent cloud-based/mobile software, computing infrastructure and data.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead efforts to enhance or mature the security of Cvent’s products and services leveraging security best practices and cutting-edge solutions
  • Review and enhance Cvent’s security technology roadmap
  • Stay current on the latest security technology through research and evaluation; monitor current and future security trends and develop proposals to integrate emerging solutions into Cvent’s security technology roadmap
  • Lead or contribute to software and infrastructure threat modeling / architecture design reviews to identify potential weaknesses and deliver guidance to relevant product and technology stakeholders
  • Create and manage enterprise security standards, design patterns, and reference architectures
  • Champion security across key technology functions and business departments
  • Support security risk and compliance activities, such as security audits, compliance reviews, and security risk treatment planning, as necessary
  • Support security incident response activities; provide consultation during information security incident investigations and related matters

What You Need for this Position

  • 10+ years of experience in network, systems, application, and mobile security
  • Past experience in large scale, high-traffic and cloud-based infrastructures with demonstrable experience in keeping them secure
  • Expert knowledge of, and demonstrable experience in applying information security principles relevant to infrastructure security, operating system and database security, web application security, mobile security and data security
  • A high level of familiarity with malicious code threats as well as common attack and penetration techniques used by adversaries
  • Past experience working in Agile/Scrum and DevOps environments
  • Expert understanding of TCP/IP, networking concepts, and services such as DNS, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS
  • Experience with security technologies such as AV/EDR, IDS/IPS, NGFW, UTM, FIM, SIEM, WAF, DLP solutions
  • Experience with vulnerability assessment and/or penetration tools such as Nessus, Nmap, Metasploit, Paros, Burpsuite, BackTrack/Kali Linux
  • Ability to self-manage multiple projects, including planning, providing status updates and metrics
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to consistently apply sound judgment and maturity to build and maintain successful professional partnerships
  • Ability to adapt to a hyper-growth pace and changing priorities
  • Maintain an industry-recognized security certification such as CISSP, CSSLP, CCSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology related field of study, or equivalent experience

Skills & Requirements

What You Need for this Position

  • 6+ years of experience in network, web, and mobile security

  • Bachelors degree in an Information Technology related field of study or equivalent experience; relevant, industry recognized security certification such as CISSP or CISA

  • Ability to adapt to a hyper-growth pace and changing priorities

  • Expert knowledge of information security principles, networks, operating systems, web applications and a level of familiarity with malicious code and common techniques used by hackers

  • Knowledge of high traffic and other cloud-based infrastructures and how they affect security needs (i.e. ticketing infrastructure, AWS infrastructure, SOA architecture)

  • Understanding of TCP/IP, networking concepts, and services such as DNS, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS

  • Experience with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, NGFW, UTM, FIM, SIEM, WAF, DLP

  • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools such as Nessus, Nmap, Metasploit, Paros, Burpsuite, BackTrack/Kali Linux

  • Ability to self-manage including planning, providing status updates and metrics

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills; outstanding oral and written communication skills
