THE POSITION

Cylance is seeking an experienced penetration tester with a passion for working with various hardware and emerging technologies to ensure embedded devices are secure and safe.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Work with various teams and customers to:
    • Explore potential known and unknown vulnerabilities
    • Test remediation strategies for effectiveness
    • Conduct telematic analysis
    • Provide reports to clients
  • Use various techniques to find and exploit vulnerabilities on all exposed attack surfaces of an embedded platform, including hardware-level attacks, Bluetooth, HTTP APIs, and mobile application penetration testing
  • Travel frequently to customer locations, mainly in Southern California

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • A minimum of three years’ experience performing various vulnerability and penetration assessments
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
  • Experience using various penetration assessment methodologies and approaches to accomplish exploitation
  • Experience with industry-standard security testing tools such as AppScan, Web Inspect, Burp Suite, Nessus, Nmap, Metasploit, viaLab, ZAP, and CANVAS
  • A strong understanding of common application and web application languages, including Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, and more.
  • Experience reverse engineering Android/iOS mobile applications and firmware
  • A passion for exploring hardware technologies for vulnerabilities, exploits, and loopholes
  • An ability to work with a team to achieve a similar result
  • Flexible and adaptable self-starter with strong relationship-building skills
  • Must have a passion for your work and an ability to apply that passion to both daily tasks and larger projects
  • Collaborative and team-oriented attitude
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Takes initiative and approaches all tasks and projects proactively
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision

ABOVE AND BEYOND

  • Experience with various soldering techniques
  • Experience using on-chip debugging hardware and software (JTAG/SWD)
  • Understanding of telematics
  • Understanding of wireless technologies, satellite communications, Bluetooth, and vehicle-to-vehicle communications
  • An ability to perform false positive validation of embedded device technologies
  • CISSP or CEH certification
