FortiGuard Services offer broad security solutions including antivirus, intrusion prevention, Web content filtering and anti-spam capabilities. These services help protect against threats on both application and network layers. FortiGuard Services are updated by FortiGuard Labs, which enables Fortinet to deliver a combination of multi-layered security intelligence and zero-day protection from new and emerging threats. We are looking for a Cyber Security Strategist to work in a dynamic and exciting new position. The Strategist’s main responsibilities will be to serve as an interface between an existing System Engineering team and FortiGuard Labs – acting as a FortiGuard Technology Specialist. The role is intended to bridge the gap between existing network security professionals and the FortiGuard Research Team (FortiGuard Labs). Responsibility includes delivering to the sales force, customers / partners the right tools to properly execute threat (APT) related proof of concept and evaluations with Fortinet product. Promoting and enabling FortiGuard Threat Intelligence Services is also an important part of this role. This includes hands on work with threat collaboration projects for partners and SOC teams. 

  • The Cyber Security Strategist will be a technical resource focused on FortiGuard services & technology (primarily Antivirus, IPS, Webfiltering, Antispam) 
  • Demonstrate FortiGuard security concepts in relation to Fortinet product, most importantly APT 
  • Specific focus will include FortiSandbox & FortiGate: creating POC attack simulations and assisting with customer POC for related detection 
  • Collaborates closely with the sales team and is expected to be able to clearly position Fortinet both from a technical and business perspective against the identified competitors 
  • Demonstrate and support FortiGuard Threat Intelligence Services with SE/customer for SOC & MSS integration cases 
  • Interface between FortiGuard analyst team and customer during threat analysis cases, custom defense deployment 
  • Deliver technical presentations, internal webcasts and some SE/sales knowledge transfer 
  • Understand and position FortiSandbox in the APT marketplace. 
  • They will be able to easily and clearly demonstrate, install, configure and manage FortiGuard services on Fortinet products in both test and production environments. 

Required Skills: 
  • Understand malware and sandbox concepts (PE32/64 Windows); ARM/mobile is a bonus 
  • Understand security vulnerability and exploit lifecycle 
  • Penetration testing framework (ie: Metasploit) experience is a valuable asset 
  • Basic programming skills (scripting / DB queries) 
  • Networking concepts and Linux system administration skills are an asset 
  • Technical presentation skills are a must; act as a leading FortiGuard technical specialist 
  • Articulate and comfortable presenting to groups; ability to communicate effectively to technical and business leaders 
  • Clear understanding of competitive landscape and differentiators in regard to APT defense 
  • Work closely with the security strategy and sales engineering team, to ensure the growth of the associated products in the region. 
  • Carry quarterly and annual revenue targets that are linked to a variable bonus 
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Graduate degree preferred.
