Cyber Security / Malware Analyst
Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
No clearance is required at time of hire but applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position:
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Cyber Operations Intelligence Analyst. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
The General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) Security Operations Center (SOC) has a projected opening for a Cyber Security / Malware Analyst (mid-level). The GDMS SOC is responsible for monitoring, scanning, reporting, risk assessments, and response operations of a fully operational network security operation. This particular position is responsible for working with all individuals in the SOC to identify, analyze, and deconstruct malware and phishing attacks containing malware. Post analysis the individual will coordinate with security system administrators to update and adjust signature and rules to enhance and solidify protection of the GD-MS Network. This Analyst will also use forensics tools to determine the identification, extent, and success/failure of network attacks.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience and knowledge with any of the following tools is considered a plus: ArcSight, Fidelis, Flexcera, FireEye HX, InfoBlox, IronPort, Palo Alto, PhishMe (Triage & Simulator), Redline, Remedy, Sharepoint, SNORT, SolarWinds, SourceFire,Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), TCPDump, Tenable NESSUS, ThreatConnect, ThreatAnalyzer, and Wireshark
PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:
The leading candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a SOC, or an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience in a SOC. The candidate will be well-spoken, and possess excellent written communication abilities. Strong candidates will have previous experience working with users; possess a talent for problem-solving as well as organization and time management skills.
