Be the Project Leader of and key contributor in a Federally Funded Research and Development Center team that supports major law enforcement efforts to fight transnational organized crime (TOC). Lead efforts to protect the financial infrastructure of the United States, investigate cyber threats associated with TOC groups, and develop prototypes of advanced information technologies that analyze diverse forms of information in multiple languages and that interact with knowledge management systems designed for strategic investigations and criminal attribution. 

Our support to our customer’s cyber intelligence mission draws on our expertise in such areas as long-term knowledge management, diverse and multi-language forms of evidence, international multi-authority/agency collaboration, and the integration of criminal intelligence with investigations. The project team works with several government stakeholders to conduct multiple forms of independent analysis and to improve processes focused on the integration of criminal intelligence and investigations.

Key Functions:

Successfully manage and oversee the project staff, deliverables, and sponsor engagement. Apply your management experience and skills to determine value, technical quality, gaps, and bias among competing work opportunities and objectives. As Project Leader, you must understand the sponsor’s and nation’s highest priorities, and continually shape the work to achieve those priorities. You must be able to collaborate closely with colleagues who have talents outside of your skillset, including foreign languages, digital forensics, database engineering, and sophisticated expertise in attribution, persona development, analysis, criminal intelligence, human intelligence, and law enforcement operations. This is the sponsor’s highest profile cyber-related unit, and most of your work will occur onsite at the government facility in Washington, DC.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated Project Leader experience, including the ability to lead a diverse project team, manage complexity, and balance long-term and immediate objectives 
  • Ability to travel in support of operational mission requirements, sometimes with little prior notice. 
  • Ability to assess complex operational risk quickly and accurately 
  • Russian language skills, both written and spoken 
  • Experience with media forensics, digital forensics, or malware forensics 
  • Ability to make suitable decisions in a fast paced and challenging environment, balancing sponsor needs with FFRDC constraints

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with federal law enforcement (FBI or US Secret Service) is highly desirable 
  • Experience managing the development or modification of critical software tools is highly desirable 
  • Experience exploiting structured and unstructured data using custom tools 
  • Experience with the Intelligence Community 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both orally and in writing 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and people handling skills
Minimum Education/ Experience
  • BS and 8 years related experience.

*This position will require overnight travel up to 10 % of the time as well as some local travel.
