Overview


 
Currently, we are seeking a talented Assistant Vice President and CISO Information Risk Governance to join the Corporate Division in Newport Beach, CA.  The Corporate Division supports the goals and initiatives of all other divisions throughout the company and its subsidiaries. These departments include: Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Corporate Development, Public Affairs, Safety & Security, Legal & Compliance.

The AVP and CISO Information Risk Governance establishes and maintains a mission, vision, strategy, and tactics for protecting Pacific Life's valuable information assets and having them readily available in all business conditions. Additionally, direct the team to identify and implement enterprise wide framework and processes that enable business initiatives while minimizing cyber security and other risk to Pacific Life's information assets.


POSITION SUMMARY
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the information security, business continuity, and information management programs across the Company
  • Establish appropriate standards, direct implementation, identify and respond to information related incidents
  • Assess, implement, and maintain processes and testing to ensure awareness and available in disaster scenarios.
  • Provide support, management, and direction to staff and departmental activities. Identify and deliver value added opportunities.
  • Perform security and business continuity risk assessments and provide recommendations for program direction.
  • Conduct relevant industry research, trend analysis, and bench marking.
  • Foster working relationships with divisional/subsidiary business and IT customers.
  • Provide regular program updates to BOD, executive management, and applicable regulatory and rating agencies.
  • Develop proposals for 3rd party security assessments, statements of work, and requests for information.
  • Provide enterprise-wide security and business continuity awareness and training.
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS
  • 15+ years in IT organization management or leadership role. 10+ years in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery field of discipline. 15+ years in Information Security field of discipline.
  • Extensive experience/knowledge of computer security and business continuity practices, applications, and implementations.
  • Ability to recognize and execute on strategic and adjacent opportunities to create efficiencies or reduce risk.
  • Effective team/relationship building and leadership skills across divisional and departmental organization structures to accomplish enterprise wide goals.
  • Strong people leadership ability including development, mentoring, coaching, motivation, and ensuring a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability to address issues/opportunities from a business perspective and IT best practices point-of-view.

  • Effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably.
  • Strong budget preparation and budget management experience.
  • Degree: BS, preferred
  • Certifications: CISSP certification preferred
