Overview
Raytheon Intelligence and Information Services (IIS) – Cyber Security & Special Missions (CSM) – Raytheon Foreground Security (RFS) has an immediate opening for a Network Security Engineer. The successful candidate will be provide engineering support building out a Security Operations Center (SOC) and its tools used by all stakeholders of the SOC.

Responsibilities:
  • Firewall services will be provided by our V-SOC Engineering Group on a 24x7x365 basis;
  • V-SOC Engineering will be responsible for performance tuning, policy changes, troubleshooting, and problem resolution on a 24x7x365;
  • Pushing firewall policies and performing updates during maintenance windows;
  • Health and welfare monitoring;
  • Collaborates to design, plan and implement new firewall architectures, upgrades and features as necessary;
  • Day to day configuration and management of several McAfee products through ePO such as Proxy, AV, DLP, and IPS;
  • Management and administration of Cisco AnyConnect VPN devices;
  • Management of Digicirt SSL Certificate/PKI solution;
  • Day to day administration and use of Vulnerability and Patch Management technologies;
  • Management of Cisco Identify Service Engine;
  • Assist in reviewing and implementing customer changes consistent with existing policies;
  • Review and update documentation to ensure consistency with current procedures;
  • Manage and optimize additional software blades associated with firewall architecture;
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support outage resolution, planned maintenance or to implement an upgrade;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Systems, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree;
  • G08 requires 4+ years concentration in performing cyber security engineering;
  • G09 requires 6+ years concentration in performing cyber security engineering;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience configuring and administering firewall technologies;
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting at least two of the following technologies DLP, AV, Proxy, Vuln Management, Cisco ISE, HIPS, SSL/PKI technologies;
  • Possess strong troubleshooting skills specific to network security and ability to effectively work in cross functional teams as needed to resolve issues;
  • Has in-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules and security policies;
  • Strong networking ability and knowledge of firewall platforms to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages.

  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills;
  • Strong attention to detail in work plan and policy preparation;
  • Relevant security certifications preferred.
