Primary Responsibilities:

  • Digital forensics for incident response, malware, spam and some corporate security issues
  • Participation in an on - call rotation approximately once every 2 months
  • Participation in various information security projects as a forensics representative

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants need to meet the qualifications listed in this posting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in digital forensics or information security experience
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative and autonomous
  • Understanding of the technology risks that are inherent to a business and an ability to effectively communicate those risks
  • Knowledge of operating system internals (virtual memory, paging, etc.) and techniques employed by malware to evade detection
  • Strong communication skills that enable one to translate complex technical concepts to non - technical audiences
  • Experience with forensic tools such as but not limited to EnCase, Forensic Toolkit or Google Rapid Response.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with memory analysis
  • Experience working on malware investigations
  • Basic project management skills and detail orientation
  • In - depth understanding of PII / PHI regulations
  • Fundamental understanding of application protocols (HTTP, DNS, FTP, etc.) and networking protocols (TCP, UDP, ARP, ICMP, etc.), and be comfortable analyzing packet capture (pcap) files in tools such as Wireshark
  • Industry standard certifications such as CFCE, EnCE or GIAC
  • Tool and script development (e.g. PERL, Python, PowerShell)
