Overview

The Information Security Architect acts as a leader in the Global Information Security Department and is a technology and solution advisor with pragmatic experience in the planning and execution of information security programs. The Information Security Architect will act in many ways as a technology consultant that can speak credibly to the security landscape, architectural models and solutions, possessing the ability to discuss and present to all levels of staff and management, both internally and externally.

  • The architect will provide subject matter expertise through participation in planning and development teams and as leader on solution design, deployment and review projects. The architect should be versant in solution design methodologies and have the ability to generate high quality artifacts such as minimum requirements, high level and detailed designs and deployment plans.
  • Review proposed and existing solutions and provide feedback with recommendations for risk appropriate security controls, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation of enterprise security programs to enable business growth and the execution of strategic goals.
  • Participate in security compliance reviews and audits.
  • Educate subject matter experts on holistic, risk appropriate security controls.
  • Participate in the continual development of a strategic roadmap, ensuring appropriate alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements with risk appropriate controls.
  • Collaborate to develop implementation standards and design patterns that support information security and regulatory compliance objectives.
  • Collaborate to develop security procedures and guidelines that support information security policies and regulatory compliance objectives.
  • Perform security-related research and development activities as required.
  • Remain current on regulatory requirements, industry standards, architectural frameworks, best practices and technologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Security or Enterprise Solution/Technology Architecture background
  • Demonstrated cross-departmental collaboration and consultation.
  • Demonstrated design and implementation of information security controls; both technical and procedural.
  • Demonstrated documentation authoring, editing and presentation experience.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that's understandable for technical, management and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to encourage, motivate and guide individuals and teams around security requirements and integration capabilities.
  • Knowledge of philosophies, concepts and tools behind the design of secure information systems.
  • Familiar with delivering architecture artifacts such as: Solution architectures, Blueprints, Roadmaps and Vendor Evaluation/ RFP's.
  • Familiar with established frameworks and methodologies (i.e. TOGAF and SABSA).
  • Knowledge of risk assessment procedures, policy formation, role-based authorization methodologies, authentication technologies and security attack pathologies.
  • Technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software, forensics and other security systems and tools.
  • Technical proficiency in broader areas of IT, including desktops and mobile devices.
  • The ability to lead both technical teams and project teams that cross multiple business functions.
  • Problem solving and analytical ability.
  • Strategic thinking and relationship management.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Desired certifications including:  CISSP, CISM, SABSA, GISP, GSNA
