zulily is a retailer obsessed with bringing our customers something special every day. Unique products from up-and-coming brands are featured alongside favorites from top brands, including clothing, home decor, accessories, toys and gifts, giving customers something new to discover each morning at an incredible price. We are fast-paced, innovative and metric-driven, with a team passionate for delighting our customers. Whether you want to work with incredible product selection, develop smart marketing plans, help us in our pursuit of faster fulfillment, or do something else awesome in between, we have a place for you. With locations in Seattle, Reno, Columbus and Bethlehem, our team is excited to be changing the way people shop every day - and we are just getting started.

We are looking for a world-class Senior Security Engineer to join our Security & Compliance team and help build a cutting-edge program encompassing all aspects of security. We need someone who is a first-class “breaker” but also a “builder” – finding problems is easy, driving them to resolution is hard. The right candidate will be a balance between hacker and business professional - technical chops are critical but so are the skills to understand and support the organization’s business priorities and risk stance. This individual must operate with a high degree of autonomy, accountability, and maturity so that decisions are made quickly and correctly.

In return, we promise a friendly, collaborative culture with a challenging, ever-changing mix of technical problems across multiple physical and cloud-based locations.

  • Act as the subject matter expert and trusted advisor to internal teams for the following services:
  • Application Security
  • Threat Management
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Monitoring, Analysis, and Hunting
  • Incident Response and Forensics
  • Secure Configurations and Architectures
  • Provide technical leadership for Compliance initiatives (SOX, PCI, primarily)
  • 5+ years of hands-on security experience
  • Deep knowledge of industry best practices related to security concepts
  • Deep knowledge of securing Linux and Windows
  • Experience securing assets in the Cloud, especially AWS
  • Experience with typical security platforms including their setup, configuration, management, and monitoring (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, anti-malware, SIEM)
  • Demonstrable coding experience, preferably with Python or a similar language
  • Penetration testing and web application assessment experience preferred
  • Incident response and forensics experience preferred
  • CISSP and GIAC certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or an additional 3 years of relevant experience
